To be frank, we’re not fans of umbrella policies.  It’s our experience that these policies are viewed by many attorneys as jackpots at the end of a rainbow and will motivate them to pursue an otherwise borderline case.  We advise most proprietors to opt for our $4M aggregate/$2M per occurrence general liability limits and drop their umbrella policy entirely.

At the end of the day, however, we want to do what you feel is necessary to protect your business.  If you want to buy an umbrella policy, we’ll do our absolute best to find the best policy for the best price–but we’ll use a company that is outside the WBPI program in order to protect the rates of all WBPI proprietors.
